Hi Endgames Community!
We’ve been getting questions from some of you how you can help Endgames out financially. We suspect there are probably more out there, waiting for a message from us as to how to help. It’s honestly heartwarming to know how many of you cared enough to ask. We feel the love and we’d like to be transparent about our company’s financial health.
It’s incredibly sad that so many of our peers are already being hit so hard. When this is over, clearly the SF theater landscape is going to look different, and we’ll all be worse off. Endgames will definitely struggle to come out the other side of this, too, but we have some advantages. Several years ago, Endgames started purchasing the properties we use for our classes (2989 Mission, and 2965 Mission). While a purchase of that size is a risk of its own, it’s put us in a good spot. We still have mortgages to pay, but we own those spaces.
We do pay rent to Stage Werx, but have luckily worked out a break from rent by working with Ty, our landlord.
So, all that considered, without digging itself too deep into a hole, Endgames can survive with a little bit of cash to get us through this. If you are so inclined, and want to help keep your favorite improv theater around when things are better, we have three easy ways you can help.
- Through your employer or team, pre-purchase a corporate workshop. Your company can redeem the workshop once life is more normal. It will never expire, so no need to worry about rushing. https://endgamesimprov.com/corporate/
- If you know you’ll be taking more classes with us, you can pre-purchase classes. These also will never expire. We also don’t know the exact dates classes will resume, but we are planning several different advanced study classes, and all the normal ones will come back. If you don’t want to take one yourself, these are transferable, and you are welcome to give them to someone else. https://endgamesimprov.com/classes
- Lastly, talk to us directly if you’re interested in making a low interest loan. We’ve done this in the past (we took over $100k in loans from the community for the remodel of ETC South, and have repaid ⅔ already). Honestly, this is the last resort for us, but, it is an easy way to drastically extend our sustaining power. You can also make a few bucks while all other interest rates are at 0%. Thanks for reading and sharing the need for help. We look forward to restarting operations and getting back to supporting performers and making audiences laugh.
