Questions About Classes

Every year, Endgames welcomes hundreds of new faces to improv. With our 5-level core-curriculum for improv, start with a 101 – Group Dynamics class. Generally taught over 7 consecutive weeks, each class is 21-hours of instructor and one fantastic graduation show. Our welcoming instructors and safe classroom culture ensure you learn the basics and build on past lessons.

Want to give it a try? We have weekly drop-in class. A drop-in is a one-day class that lets you sample what a class feels like. Each day is a stand-alone improv topic for all levels, but mostly new faces. Check out our classes page for more information and the link to reserve a ticket.

We recommend everyone start at level 101. Even experienced improvisers will meet potential future teammates, better connect to the community, and reinforce good habits. Taking our classes is not a requirement of being involved. You can submit an indie team to our indie shows like Thunderdome, audition for a house team, participate in jams, or rent the theater for your own indie show.

If you would like to take classes, please email us at classes@endgamesimprov.com

Last we checked, Endgames Improv is the only theater in the SF Bay Area with graduation shows after every level, even 101. We firmly believe that you grow faster and become more confident in three ways: being in class, seeing shows, and being in shows. The last part is so often ignored. But we believe the results are self-evident when you compare our graduates versus any other training center.

Being in the graduation show is not required to pass the class. However, we highly encourage you to be there and invite your family and friends.

To pass a class, you must attend 5 out of 7 class days. An absence is defined as missing more than 30 minutes of a single class day. Please make sure you can reliably arrive on time, as being 30 minutes late will make it tough for you to pass. We have attendance requirements to make sure students can get to know each other and feel comfortable being vulnerable in front of each other. The more advance a class topic, the more cohesion is needed for success.

Generally, most folks miss a single day of a 7-week course. Thus, don’t let a single absence keep you from signing up. No class day is more important to be at than any other day. In the event you miss more than 2 days, we can schedule a single make-up day in a later round. You may have to delay your next level until the make-up day is complete.

Unfortunately, we cannot. There are too many moving parts to make a change to a day of class or the graduation show. We get it. It is a huge bummer to miss either. But trying to coordinate an adjustment requires the teacher, the space, and all your peers to be available.

Please be sure to check every class day listed and skipped days, if any. Even if you think we should skip a holiday, we may not. In addition, the graduation shows are scheduled only after the class begins. It is best to keep open the weekend immediately following your last class day.

We want everyone to feel safe in the classroom. Thus, we don’t allow anyone to sit in and watch.

While our theaters are equipped with the top-of-the-line streaming video and recording, we don’t offer copies of graduation shows. You and your peers are learning how to do improv, and that can be scary. The graduation show is about trying something new and sometimes failing. No one should be afraid that these early shows could be posted online.

Questions About Shows

Absolutely! You do risk missing out if we sell-out. But generally, only the 9p shows on Friday and Saturday hit capacity. If you need a guarantee, buy online. We take cash, card, and phone.

Yes! We serve soft drinks, beer, wine, and pre-mixed cocktails. As we do not have a kitchen, our food is limited to pre-packaged snacks.

We do! But it can only be consumed in the lobby. Inside our theaters, we only allow consumption of our concession items.

We take the protection of our performers very seriously. Comedy and theater often requires performers to present a piece of their self on stage. Unless asked for input by the performers, we kindly ask that you enjoy the show by watching and laughing. We have a zero tolerance policy for customers too intoxicated to be in control of their actions. Violators will be asked to leave without refund.

When you buy a ticket for a show, your ticket is good for any other non-sold-out show that same night. Buy a ticket for the early show, and stay later if you are enjoying. Or, buy a ticket for the later show, and come early. Whichever show you have a ticket for is 100% guaranteed (assuming you are on time), the others are icing on the cake.

In order to keep our prices low, we try to reduce overhead. The time it takes to adjust a ticket and respond to any back and forth communication just isn’t worth it for the price of a ticket. Thus, all of our shows are non-refundable. If you make a mistake, please email us ASAP as we are will try our best to help with honest mistakes caught early.

Yes and no. Any unclaimed tickets are sold to our stand-by line 10 minutes after the show is scheduled to begin. If we sell your spot, then we can no longer fit you in. If we don’t sell your spot, you can absolutely be seated late. We aren’t snobs about our shows, but we sure like all the seats being filled.

Questions That Are General

Of course! Service animals are allowed. We follow the guidelines set forth by the ada.gov website.

We kindly decline to allow emotional support animals that fall outside the service animal definition.

Please let us know if we can be helpful in addition to any of the services already provide.

Our location at 2989 Mission St is fully wheelchair accessible with doors, bathrooms, and proper hallway dimensions. As of 2024, our location at 2965 Mission St is not. We have plans to be fully wheelchair accessible by 2025.

Our theaters can be equipped with wider seating and support for up to 700 pounds. We can provide hearing impairment devices with individualized volume controls with a feed of the ceiling microphones.

Most of our shows are either house teams or produced by others who rent from us. We are happy to put you in contact with the right person if you email us at info@endgamesimprov.com. At this time, Endgames does not produce one-off shows.

While we do make mistakes, there is very low chance we are not holding an event that is posted on our website or on a ticketing site. We have two properties that are super close to each other. Please check the address you are at before claiming that we were not open.
